Children's Book Author • Storyteller • Founder of Pumphrey House Media
Alexsandra Pumphrey is an award-winning children's book author, Old Dominion University 40 Under 40 Honoree, and founder of Pumphrey House Media, an independent publishing company dedicated to creating stories that inspire imagination, kindness, and confidence in young readers. Her debut book, Rawr Rawr Dinosaur™: It's Time to Go to Bed, earned First Place at The BookFest Awards, became an Amazon #1 Hot New Release, and made its festival debut at the 2026 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books.
Pumphrey House Media was founded in honor of her late mother, Regina F. Pumphrey, an educator and published children's author who created the beloved Merle the Traveling Girl™ series. Today, Alexsandra continues that legacy while building one of her own through stories that celebrate literacy, creativity, and meaningful connections between children and families. In 2026, she expanded the series with Merle the Traveling Girl and the Missing Tooth, bringing a new generation of readers into the world her mother first imagined.
